The film in which Hanna Schygulla and Marcello Mastroianni conquer Pest nightlife. 1919, Budapest. The husband of Mici (Hanna Schygulla) is murdered for his diamonds. Mici is forced to flee with her child and musician Rozsnyai (Marcello Mastroianni) saves them. Together they escape to Italy, only to return to Budapest many years later, now in possession of a great fortune. They open the Arizona nightclub and it quickly becomes the hub for high society and a regular meeting place for barons, ministers, consuls and spies. Pál Sándor shot his tenth feature film using typical virtuosity in generating a particular atmosphere, this time complementing the quality Hungarian crew with two world-famous stars.
